In college I had a bit of a capsule wardrobe that I'd just interchange between throughout the week. This saved so much time in the morning and just less stress, so I thought I'd share my key pieces.
1: A Good Pair Of Jeans.
A good pair of jeans are staple for any wardrobe but I think especially in college they are a great investment piece. Spend some time looking for your perfect pair; you want comfort, confidence and a good colour to go with everything. I probably wore jeans everyday and just switched them up between my Joni Jeans in different colours. They're perfect for sitting around lessons, they look put together and can be paired with anything on top.
2: Interesting Tops.
College outfits can get really boring and if you're like me, you like to be a bit more interesting. To do this I focussed on getting a few interesting tops and shirts. I mainly looked to Zara and ASOS sales for these; good student tip there, always head to the student sales with UniDays. I think a few different shirts and tops with an interesting pattern can make a few outfits and just adds more interest. They're also great for looking like you put more effort than you did into your OOTD.
3: Simple, Rainproof Coat.
This was so essential for me!! Walking to and from college on those gross, winter days wasn't fun and it was even worse having to sit in class all wet. So I got my simple, blue coat from Topshop. You could go for any but a rainproof coat is so essential. They keep you from being all soggy and keep you warm throughout your time but are just generally great for any time of year. It seems like a real mam thing to say to get a rain coat but they really are essential. When your lessons been cancelled and you can't get a lift home, raincoat!! Saved my immune system, ahah!
4: Knitwear.
If your college is anything like mine, sometimes they'll forget to turn the heating on so you're sat in a monday morning lesson freezing. I just got a big scarf, which is great for using as a blanket for the really cold days and if you dont wear in on you, they can't tell you to take it off, like they can with a coat or hat.
5: A Check Shirt.
Check shirts are so easy to throw on and they go with skirts, jeans, dresses and any kind of printed top. They just add an extra layer and they create a really simple outfit.
6: Trousers/Comfy Bottoms.
I already spoke about jeans but I'd say get a pair of cool trousers or smart joggers because sometimes you've had a binge of a weekend and your just feel a bit grim and putting jeans on is not the one. I just have these trousers from the Zara sale and they're fab. They're stretchy so a bit more comfy than jeans and they have a fun pattern on so it makes you feel less gross on a monday. I think college outfits are all about not feeling gross.
What are your staples for college?

These are great staples! I'm long out of college but seriously love a simple wardrobe and I totally agree with an interesting top making your outfit look like you put more effort in then you did. Loved this! XO -Kim
